Contract Template License

Contract Template License & Permitted Use

Last updated: October 11, 2026

When you purchase a U.S. state-specific construction contract template from Construction Companion USA, you receive a license to use the document. You do not acquire ownership of the underlying template, wording, design, or other intellectual property.

What your purchase allows

  • Complete and adapt: Fill in blanks and edit your purchased template to suit your own genuine construction projects, subject to applicable law.
  • Reuse for your own business: Use the purchased template for multiple projects undertaken by the individual purchaser or the same purchasing construction business without purchasing another copy for every job.
  • Share completed project documents: Provide an appropriately completed project-specific agreement to your customer, relevant project participants, or your own business staff for ordinary project purposes.
  • Keep copies: Retain records and completed agreements for your business.

What the license does not allow

  • Reselling the blank template or distributing copies as downloadable templates.
  • Publishing the source template or a substantially similar version on a public website, shared template library, marketplace, or document-selling service.
  • Giving other unrelated businesses unrestricted use of your purchased template, sublicensing or transferring the template library, or selling template packs.
  • Claiming Construction Companion USA's template wording or brand as your own standalone commercial template product.

If you operate multiple independent businesses or want to redistribute templates as part of another commercial service, contact us about permission before doing so.

Duration and updates

Your license to use the purchased version for your own business continues after any included update period, unless terminated for a material breach of these terms. Where advertised, downloadable updates made available during the first 18 months after purchase are included without a recurring subscription charge. We do not promise indefinite new updates.

Legal review remains your responsibility

Permission to edit and reuse a template is not legal advice or a guarantee of enforceability. You are responsible for reviewing the contents, applicable state and local requirements, project details, and any necessary attorney review before use. Read our Legal Disclaimer and Terms of Service.
