Construction Companion USA offers downloadable U.S. state-specific construction contract templates for contractors and construction businesses in the United States, intended to help organize and document their projects. This page explains the limits of the documents and your responsibilities when using them.

No attorney-client relationship

Purchasing, downloading, editing, or using our templates does not create an attorney-client relationship with Construction Companion USA, its team, contributors, or any attorney involved in developing or reviewing general template content. You are not represented by an attorney through your purchase, and support inquiries do not establish an attorney-client relationship.

Templates are not individualized legal advice

Our products provide general contract materials and information. They do not assess the facts of your job, your customer, your licensing status, your state's current legal requirements, or the specific risks of a dispute. References to contractor experience, attorney knowledge, or state-specific versions do not mean the document has been individually drafted or approved for your particular situation by an attorney representing you.

You are responsible for legal suitability

You must review, complete, and confirm the legal suitability of every document before using it. This includes checking all applicable federal, state, and local laws, mandatory contract language, required notices, cooling-off or cancellation provisions, disclosures, lien and payment rules, signatures, construction licensing rules, permit requirements, and the precise scope of your work.

Construction law varies by state, locality, and project. Requirements can change after a template is written or updated. Have a qualified attorney licensed in the relevant jurisdiction review and adapt the document whenever appropriate, particularly for high-value projects or legally complex situations.

No guarantee against disputes or losses

A written contract can help set expectations but cannot prevent every dispute or guarantee payment, performance, enforceability, a successful claim, or a specific legal outcome. You are responsible for how you negotiate, issue, execute, and administer the contract, and for your own commercial decisions.

Limitations of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Construction Companion USA disclaims warranties that a template will be suitable for every purpose or comply with every legal requirement in every situation. We are not responsible for losses caused by your failure to review, complete, adapt, or lawfully use a document. Any further limitation of liability is described in our Terms of Service. Nothing on this website excludes any liability, statutory warranty, consumer right, or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
