Welcome to Construction Companion USA. This U.S. store offers downloadable, state-specific construction contract templates for customers in the United States; UK contract editions are not sold here. These Terms of Service govern your use of this website and your purchase and use of our digital documents. By ordering a product, you agree to these terms, subject to rights that cannot legally be waived.
1. What we provide
We supply pre-prepared digital contract templates and supporting documents intended for use by construction industry businesses. Products are offered for different trades, project types, and U.S. states as described on the individual product page. Products are not customized legal services or legal representation.
2. No attorney-client relationship
Buying, downloading, editing, or using a Construction Companion USA product does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Construction Companion USA, any contributor, or any attorney whose knowledge may have informed our content. No attorney is engaged to represent you through a product purchase. No attorney-client privilege or confidential legal advisory relationship arises from the transaction.
Our materials are general informational templates, not legal advice about your particular circumstances. Customer support cannot advise you on legal compliance, enforceability, litigation, or how particular terms will operate in your state.
3. Your responsibility to check legal suitability
You are responsible for selecting the correct product and state, reviewing the entire document, completing blanks accurately, and determining whether it is appropriate for your business, client, project, and local requirements. You must verify compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and project-specific requirements before using or signing a contract.
These may include contractor licensing, required notices, cancellation rights, payment provisions, lien rules, consumer protections, permits, disclosures, and other mandatory wording. Laws and legal interpretations can change. Where legal advice is required, have a qualified attorney licensed in the relevant jurisdiction review and adapt the document before use.
4. Purchase, payment, and delivery
Prices are displayed in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. Applicable taxes, where charged, are shown in checkout. Purchases are one-time payments unless a specific listing clearly states otherwise; buying a standard template does not enroll you in a subscription. Digital access is provided after payment in accordance with our Digital Delivery Policy.
5. License to use the documents
You receive permission to download, complete, adapt, and reuse your purchased template for your own construction business's genuine projects, subject to our Contract Template License. The purchase does not transfer ownership of the underlying template or give you permission to resell, redistribute, sublicense, or publish blank templates.
6. Updates
Where advertised, eligible products include access to available updates for 18 months following purchase, subject to the delivery arrangements described in our Digital Delivery Policy. We may revise our content, but updates are not a guarantee of continuous legal compliance or attorney review of your individual document.
7. Refunds and cancellations
Digital purchases are generally final once access has been provided, except as required by applicable U.S. federal or state law. Please see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full details.
8. No guarantee of results
No template can guarantee that a dispute will not arise, a client will pay, a claim will succeed, or a term will be enforceable in every situation. Read our Legal Disclaimer before relying on a document.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Construction Companion USA is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the website or documents. Where the law permits a contractual cap, our aggregate liability for a product-related claim is limited to the amount you paid for that product. These restrictions apply only to the extent permitted by law and do not exclude liability for fraud, deliberate wrongdoing, or any matter for which liability cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
10. Intellectual property and prohibited use
The website content, template structure, branding, and associated materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may not share a template library, sell blank or edited templates as standalone products, misrepresent authorship, or use our products to establish a competing document-template service without permission.
11. Changes and applicable law
We may update website terms for future use and purchases by posting a revised version. Any dispute is subject to applicable law and mandatory consumer protections; nothing here removes jurisdictional rights or remedies that cannot be waived. Where these terms conflict with non-waivable law, that law takes precedence.
